Welcome to Jamuna Oil Company Ltd.

Introduction:

Jamuna Oil Company Limited is a Petroleum Marketing Company serving the nation for last four decades. It markets POL products viz. Octane, Petrol, Diesel, Kerosene, Furnace Oil, Bitumen, Lubricants, [PG and also Pesticides. Originally the name of the Company was Pakistan National Oils Limited which was formed in the year 1964. After our long cherished independence The Company was renamed as "Bangladesh National Oils" by an Ordinance of 1972. In the year 1975 BNO was renamed as Jamuna Oil Company Limited under The Companies Ad, 1913 and was restored as a Private limited Company. Since 1976 it is functioning as a subsidiary of Bangladesh Petroleum Corporation.

The Head Office of the Company Es situated in Chittagong at Agrabad Commercial Area. It has its own office building named "Jamuna Bhaban". lain Installation is located at Guptakhal, Patenga Chittagong. Products from Eastern Refinery, LPG plant and refined imported products are stored here for onward dispatch to the upcountry depots and also for local sales.

3. Organizational Structure

Company is managed by a team of 6 (Six) directors, all of them are nominated by the Government. The board is responsible for over all functioning and top policy making body of the Company. General Manager, the Chief Executive of the Company is also appointed by Bangladesh Petroleum Corporation.. All day to day affairs are performed by him which is regulated by a Power of Attorney.

6. Distribution Network:

Product receipts of ERL & LPC plant and imported finisird products are being marketed by the Company through 335 Filling Stations, 573 Distributors Point and 153 Packed Paint Dealers. Besides, the Company delivers products directly to industries and Power Plants. Apart from that, Company has 732 LPG dealers and 83 Pesticide Dealers. Company gets supply of LPG from LP Gas Limited, Chittagong and Kailashtila Project, Sylhet.

7. Volume of Business:

There are 3 (Three) Oil Marketing Companies in the Country. The volume of products marketed by our company in last five fiscal years upto 2060-2001 was 56,09,384 MT (32.8%) out of all Companies total sale of 171,17,698 MT. The volume of Pesticides marketed by our Company was 544.54 MT in last five fiscal years upto 2000-2001.

8. Employee Strength:

The present employee strength of the Company is 591 which include 176 officers, 123 staff and 292 workers.

Joint Venture Company

To establish a Joint Venture Company, Jamuna Oil Co. Ltd. and Mobil Asia Pacific (PTE) Ltd. have signed a Memorandum of understanding (MOU) in November 1996. In this connection, two Agreements were signed between Jamuna Oil Company Ltd. & Mobil Asia Pacific (PTE) Ltd. in the name & style of "Mobil Jamuna Lubricants Limited" and another "Mobil Jamuna Fuels Limited". Construction of Plant for Blending of Lubricating Oil is in progress.

Conclusion:

Our Company is serving the nation by supplying of POL products throughout the Country through its Countrywide well planned depots and sales network which always remain active.
